Lunch Bentos - Week 2

We're into our second week of school, which is actually a full week!  There is still some grumbling about going to school in the mornings but as a whole the transition has occurred smoothly. Here are our bentos for the week. The kids helped make them :)

Monday
The girls made turkey on white wheat butterfly sandwiches for lunch. They filled in the box with grapes, baby carrots, turkey flowers and cheese as decorations. The sides are mandarin orange slices and fruit snacks.

Tuesday
This is some leftover meatloaf shaped into a bunny face with some rice balls.  Baby carrots and grapes are used to fill in the rest of the box with some carrot for decoration. The sides are cucumber slices and mandarin orange slices.

Wednesday
This is a blue bear made from some colored rice. Ham and turkey pinwheels and some cucumber slices to fill in the box and as decoration. The sides are cucumber slices and mandarin orange slices.

This is a cat turkey on white wheat sandwich. The box is filled in with strawberries, mandarin orange slices  and cucumber slices. The peel from the cucumber and a blueberry are used for decoration. The sides are mandarin orange slices, grapes and fruit snacks.

Thursday
This is a bear turkey on white wheat sandwich. Whole mandarin oranges, peeled, are used as the ears. The girls said it looked like Pucca :). The box is filled in with strawberries, cucumber slices and grapes. Blueberries and a strawberry slice are used for decoration. The sides are apple slices and fruit snacks.

Friday
Another butterfly sandwich rounds out the week.  My 9 y/o made this one all by herself with no help from me :)  Fridays are pizza days at school and she doesn't like pizza (She's probably the only kid that doesn't!).  It's a ham on white wheat sandwich with baby carrots and ham pinwheels. Some cheese is used as decoration. The sides are mandarin orange slices and grapes.
